The DEM response about health of the mother over abortion has always been that mental health must be included in the criteria.  This is because for so many women, the pregnancy causes extreme psychological distress.  I mean extreme, to the point of suicide or homicide.

I understand the countervailing argument related to late term abortions.  But to give a categorical ban on mental health considerations by the Government is  taking away a woman's right to her body by fiat.

Obama has a habit of issuing incredibly stark statements that he has to walk back from.  It shows his intellectual honesty and his lack of experience in governance.  His naive statement about an undivided Jerusalem before AIPEC was another such gaffe.  He stepped on delicate diplomatic negotiation positions by his statement.

I have to wonder if he is so focused on winning that he has lost sight of governing.

I have to wonder about people who just started posting here. Why wait until after the most exciting primary race to start commenting on a democratic political blog. Just saying.

What, you see deep dark motives? (none / 0)

Well I am a Clinton voter, was on KOS until I decided it was too big and too slanted for Obama and then came here.

I don't post much because it takes too long for me to write my posts (notice how long they usually are!).  I post on KOS and here only but I read a lot of other stuff, left blogoshere and right as well, just to keep informed.

I am definitely an Obama skeptic so make of that what you will.

I do think he will be the next president for sure.  I do wish I could believe in him more and I am very concerned about the next few years of this country, I think they are make or break years.

I am now gonna log off the computer because I have been on for two many hours and I am neglecting other stuff...

"mental distress" does not equal mental health
